Body of Christ:

Vacation Bible School was an exciting and fun week for over 80 children of our community ages pre- school through 6th grade. Using “Wacky Animals”, we decorated the church in a fun and colorful theme. Through music, games, crafts, and snack time we taught the Gospel and developed relationships with the children and families. A highlight of the program this year was the interactive lesson time, in which the Bible stories were re-enacted by the children, and they experienced the stories instead of just hearing them. We had a fantastic group of volunteers.

Our Sunday School program continues to grow in numbers, and we have divided into an additional section to accommodate the various age levels. Our new curriculum will follow the life of Jesus with everyone learning the same principles each week. I am excited to see the whole church embrace the same stories, so that families can be learning and growing together.

We continue to provide our Wednesday and Thursday afterschool programs. This is an incredible outreach opportunity. However, we do struggle with having enough adequate help to truly teach, develop relationships, and minister. Between the three groups, we serve an average of 70 kids each week. My prayer is that God would raise up leaders and helpers who are full of the Spirit and on fire for the Lord, allowing this ministry to flourish and glorify Him.

We also sent children in 3rd through 6th grade to Hidden Acres camp again this year, which has proven to be a life-changing experience. I am eager to see what God has planned for 2015 and how He will use His Body to accomplish His goals. I ask you to pray that God will continue to guide my decisions and endeavors as CE Director.
